Multislice computerized axial tomography is a diagnosis method through X-Ray emission. This enables obtaining planar images of body structures (by way of slices), or by way of 3-D reconstruction.
There is a 64-slice (cuts) helical multislice computed tomography equipment at Hospital San Javier which enables running fast and accurate tests, from some seconds up to one minute approximately, i.e. 64 times faster than conventional tomography, which translates into effective tests with minimal discomfort to patients.
The intelligent contrast material injection is incorporated in a dual mode; the tomography is combined with an injection of an inert solution (saline solution) thus reducing cost, risk and patient discomfort still further.
