I COULD!

Martha Teresa Flores Villalobos has shared her personal experience at San Javier and her fight against cancer. She was timely diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery in January 2012. It was a successful surgery and she stated, “Thanks be to God, it was a timely diagnosis” “I believe that the most important part about cancer is that it can be timely detected.”

After her surgery she began taking chemotherapy sessions and she arrives to Hospital San Javier sharing her optimism and human spirit, showing what a great person and a warrior she is. “It all depends on you wanting to do it, cancer must not defeat you, but you must win this battle.”

During the process, Martha has turned into a great friend for Hospital San Javier and she often visits the staff, she says: “I believe that we must always be grateful to people who have helped us in times of difficulty in our lives.”

Furthermore, Martha shared a message to all the patients who are currently fighting against cancer. “I believe that the persons sitting on these armchairs undergoing treatment and who hear our laughter must think that I am a senseless person, that I laugh and that I am happy for their suffering, and at times I would like to tell them: I was there for a full year and a half, I was sitting at the very place where you are now, I had a treatment very much like yours… so look at me now, and see that you can be successful if you are willing.”

I can, You can, We can!
